True relationship and connection requires intimacy, and the greatest hindrance to that connection is AVOIDANCE OF CONFLICT.
Conflict is an inevitable component of ANY relationship, whether romantic, familial, or professional. The absence of conflict is not a sign of a healthy relationship, it’s a sign that you are avoiding difficult conversations and neglecting to resolve problems.
This is why conflict resolution is a vital skill for anyone who wants healthy, fulfilling relationships.
Instead of seeing relationship problems and conflict as the problem, this course provides a variety of perspectives that will help you see that FACING these challenges is the SOLUTION!
Develop a relationship growth mindset, learn how stop destructive conflict patterns, and as a result, develop relationships with greater intimacy and fulfillment!
This course is separated into 2 SECTIONS:
SECTION 1: TURN RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS INTO GROWTH
This section focuses on additional strategies and ways of looking at the PURPOSE of romantic relationships that frames relationship problems, not as what is WRONG with relationships but as powerful opportunities for growth and greater intimacy!
The goal for your relationship is not perfection or the absence of problems or challenges. The goal is to develop the tools and the trust and the growth mindset so that you KNOW you can overcome any relationship challenge.
So, how do you do that? First, you stop doing what most people do which is either:
A—They damage their relationship with unnecessary fighting, like two individuals on opposite sides of a battle, which erodes trust.
B—They suffocate their relationship by avoiding dealing with underlying relationship problems, which leads to resentment.
Not knowing how to effectively handle relationship problems leads to pain and suffering and often to the death of the relationship. But, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Instead, you can become allies—partners who work together as a team to address relationship problems in a healthy, constructive way. In this course, you’ll learn that the TRUE purpose of a romantic relationship is to help you learn, grow and become a better version of yourself, while at the same time getting to know another person with a level of intimacy and closeness that cannot be experienced in any other way.
SECTION 2: CONFLICT MANAGEMENT for Relationships + At Work
Learn universal conflict resolution skills, including:
· Effective listening + communication
· Problem solving techniques
· Practical steps for handling difficult conversations
*******NOTE: This section of the course provides tools that are applicable for ANY type of relationship. While the tone of many of these videos are spoken as if they’re addressing conflict management in the workplace, the concepts also apply to family members and intimate relationships.
We all have those conversations we keep putting off.
Those times when we know we should talk to someone, but we don’t. Having difficult conversations is never easy, whether they're with co-workers, family members or a romantic partner. That’s why it is important to learn CONFLICT MANAGEMENT skills, so you can approach difficult conversations in a way that resolves conflict in a healthy way.
The biggest problem caused by conflicts are NOT the conflicts themselves, but rather the way conflicts are handled. In many cases not handled at all, which leads to problems festering and deteriorating relationships. Humans are psychologically wired to seek pleasure and avoid pain. So, naturally, we avoid dealing with conflict. The problem is avoiding or mishandling conflicts causes bigger problems with long-term consequences that can be detrimental to our psychological well-being and the success of relationship.
But, not all conflict is inherently bad—in fact it can be both healthy and beneficial. When an effective system for managing differences of opinion is put into place, whether at home or on the job, conflicts can be the source of tremendous growth, creativity, and connection. When the environment is one of trust and openness, individuals see disagreements as an opportunity to find common ground and creative solutions. When the fear of win-lose situations is eliminated, win-win situations become a common goal.
